The Mission

How might we more effectively match Directors with client work?

IDEO Leadership wanted to ensure that client work was being effectively and efficiently staffed. The assumption was that the lack of centralized visibility of client work made it challenging for Directors to identify which work to support.

  • Conducted research interviews to understand the current state and process.

  • Presented to leadership three opportunity areas that could impact how Directors are being staffed on client work.

  • Scoped and proposed initiatives based on research insights.

  • Partnered with key stakeholders to lead an initiative to improve the current process.

  • Challenged the original assumptions and identified the right problems to solve.

Outcomes

Due to a reduction-in-force, this initiative was unable to be completed, but the team delivered the following outcomes:

  • Better understanding of the current state and process of how Directors are being staffed onto client work.

  • Identification of root problems that need to be solved to improve the current process.
